The Carnegie Institution of Washington, known also for public purposes as the Carnegie Institution for Science, is an organization in the United States.
One of the most extravagant venues to my eyes in D.C. and a marble rotunda that cannot be compared. The space has authentic Washington DC details and character.
For DC the Reception venue's prices are very reasonable about $6,000 and the space is gorgeous. Marble columns, separate areas allow for guest to dance or chat.
Guest Capacity up to 150. Wedding Setting: Historic Venue, Library, Museum
The library upstairs provided several fun opportunities to take pictures and provided my wife and me the opportunity to take a break with just ourselves after the ceremony.
The main rotunda is where ceremony and dancing happens,
The Ballroom (for dining),
The boardroom (for bar and photo booth), and Library, is the best place to get Ready and do Vanity fair Style wedding photos. The Carnegie is located close to several hotels, as well as after-party locations in a popular area of DC.
Great Option for Non-Religious Wedding Ceremony. The staff is very accommodating.
Carnegie has very few restrictions on what you can do with space which allowed all of our vendors to really show off their creativity.
The only drawback are: that parking was not available on site - a garage is about 1/2 block away and the Event must end at midnight.
Location: 1530 P St NW, Washington, DC 20005.
